Our Projects

As the recognized voice  of domestic violence in Connecticut, CCADV serves three main functions:  to advocate on behalf of victims and survivors in the policy arena, to support domestic violence service providers, and to develop and implement prevention programs aimed at reducing the incidence of domestic violence.  The goal of every project at CCADV is to strengthen the response to domestic violence in Connecticut.

Primary Prevention Initiative

Through a grant from the CDC Foundation, CCADV has built the capacity of its membership to move from education to action.  CCADV understands that without measured and purposeful  efforts to address the root causes of domestic and dating violence, we will never be able to stop it.  Learn more.

CCADV Training Institute

CCADV has opened a training institute to make sure that member agency advocates across the state remain leaders in our work.  CCADV also provides training and education to those individuals and other organizations that help victims. Learn more.

Communications Project

To raise awareness about the issue of domestic violence, our Communications Project uses a variety of social networking tools and works to improve the media response to domestic violence.  Learn more.

Technical Assistance Project

Our technical assistance activities are designed to assist our member agencies and other supporters.  CCADV staff   are available to work through challenging situations with a victim or provide a new resource for our members.  They also share promising practices, trends and emerging issues occurring throughout the state and nation.
