Accountant
Non-profit organization seeks a full charge accountant to perform accounting functions, include: payroll, accounts payable, general ledger, budget, and development / maintenance of Excel spreadsheets used for grant compliance and reporting to funding agencies. Qualifications include: accounting degree or equivalent experience i.e., five years experience with general ledger, payroll (including payroll taxes and benefits), vendor payment processing, bank reconciliation and proficiency with electronic spreadsheets such as Excel. Domestic Violence Crisis Center in Norwalk/Stamford
Counselor / Advocate
Counselor/Advocate with Spanish speaking skills for Domestic Violence Crisis Center (FT) to provide counseling/advocacy to victims of domestic violence in Stamford. Bi-Lingual Counselor/Advoccate is responsible for crisis intervention, counseling, and outreach to suvivors of domestic violence and thier families. Will train and certify. Some evening hours, valid license and automobile required. Minimun of Bachelors Degree. Salary Range: $30,000-$34,000 plus excellent benefits.

Prudence Crandall Center
Part Time Shelter Advocates
Prudence Crandall Center is seeking Part Time Shelter Advocates to fill a variety of shifts at our 24-hour emergency shelter. These positions are responsible for providing advocacy, counseling, information, referrals, support and related services to women, men and children who have been impacted by domestic violence. Answering the 24-hour crisis hotline and assistance with all aspects of shelter maintenance and operations are also required. Starting salary: $10 per hour.
Positions work an irregular schedule of 0-31 hours per week as needed
and are required to cover at least three holiday shifts per year.
Local travel is necessary, reliable transportation required.
Minimum of 4 years of related education/experience required. Bilingual English/Spanish a plus. Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work with diverse populations, ability to work independently and demonstrated commitment to ending violence against women and children required.

Neighborhood Victim Advocate
Victim Advocate to work with victims of domestic violence and
other crimes
• Risk Assessment and Safety Planning
• Crisis Counseling
• Transportation and Court Accompaniment
• Referral to Other Needed Services
• Home Visiting and Outreach
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s Degree and two years experience in the fields of human
service and/or criminal justice preferred. The ability to maintain and build
positive working relationships with community service providers including
law enforcement, mental health, and protective service personnel is
essential. A familiarity with local community resources is required. The
candidate should understand the dynamics of violence and victimization.
Spanish a definite plus. Strong communication and organizational skills are
necessary. Must have own car and required auto insurance.

The Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic offers students the opportunity to combine their academic studies with on-the-job training and experience. In the past, CCADV interns have participated in public policy advocacy, communications/public awareness activities, domestic violence fatality review and data research and assessment.
