Last year almost 13,000 individuals contacted Safe Connect, Connecticut’s domestic violence information and resource line, looking for help, with over 37,000 survivors ultimately walking through the doors of Connecticut’s 18 domestic violence organizations where they received a variety of life-saving services. Emergency shelters continued to overflow while experiencing a forty-five percent (45%) increase in the length of time survivors stayed in shelter.

New CCADV Report Finds Concerning Pattern of Missed Interventions with Pregnant and Postpartum Individuals Relative to Intimate Partner Violence Jun 14 2023 Nearly a third of individuals who experienced a pregnancy-associated death in Connecticut between 2015 and 2021 had experienced intimate partner violence (IPV) at some point in their lifetime (33 of 102 individuals or 32%). This according to a new report released today by Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) showing the increased risk for death faced by pregnant and postpartum individuals when experiencing or having experienced intimate partner violence (IPV).

Statement on Governor's Budget Proposals Related to Victim Services & Domestic Violence Feb 08 2023 Meghan Scanlon, President & CEO of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV), today released the following statement regarding Governor Lamont’s biennial budget proposal which includes $13.175 million allocated from pandemic relief funds in Fiscal Year 2024 to replace lost federal funding from the federal Victims of Crime Act (VOCA).

CCADV Pro Bono Restraining Order Project Reaches Half Million Dollars of Donated Legal Services to Victims Jan 10 2023 Today the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (CCADV) announced that its Pro Bono Restraining Order (PBRO) Project has provided more than $500,000 in free legal services to applicants of family violence restraining orders since its relaunch in January 2021. Over 100 volunteer attorneys have served nearly 200 victims providing more than 1,500 hours of service including representation, technical assistance, project development, and training.
